Public health education is at the core of what we do. Presentations can be made to elementary, junior high and high school students, community groups and service clubs, private business and industry personnel, and volunteer agencies. Topics include, but are not limited to:

Allegany County Fair 2022 Award

Allegany County has a rich heritage of tight knit communities that celebrate local events and seasons. The Allegany County Department of Health makes an effort to attend many of these events throughout the County each year to provide education.

We cover a wide range of topics from Rabies and Septic Systems to Lead Poisoning Prevention and Communicable Diseases.

Lead poising can cause problems with a child’s growth, behavior, and ability to learn. The Allegany County Department of Health provides education, case management, and primary prevention services.
