Electronics

Since 2015, the NYS Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act has prohibited all New York State Residents from disposing of any Covered Electronic Equipment (CEE) by any disposal method other than reuse or recycling. This act requires manufacturers to provide free and convenient recycling of electronic waste to all New York State Residents. For any E-waste not generated in a residential setting, please contact Tim Palmiter, at 585-268-7282.

The New York State DEC provides for two means of residential E-Waste recycling. In conjunction with the Act, Allegany County currently provides four, quarterly, E-Waste collection events as well as 12 monthly TV Collection events. These events are provided for residential E-Waste recycling only. There is a limit of two televisions per person at the Monthly TV Collections.
