Allegany County Accepts Glass Bottles and Jars for recycling at all Allegany County Transfer Stations.

In 2023, Allegany County Residents diverted 94.4 tons of recyclable glass from the waste stream. These materials were sold to Recycall of Port Allegany, PA who cleans and grinds the material and then sells it to end-users to be manufactured into new glass bottles and jars. The revenue of $2,800 generated from these materials helped to offset the cost of the Residential Disposal Permit and Tickets.
