Mixed paper recycling includes:
- magazines
- junk mail
- paper envelopes
- brown paper bags
- newspapers
- office paper
- junk mail
- post-it notes
- note cards
- soft cover books
- *** Hardcover books are accepted if the covers and bindings have been removed
All paper products must be clean and dry to be accepted
Do Not include:
- thermal receipt paper
- carbon paper
- padded or Tyvek envelopes
- coated papers
- spiral bindings or hardcover books (with covers and bindings attached)
Allegany County accepts these materials free of charge at all Allegany County Recycling Centers
What happens to the paper we collect?
These materials are currently sold to Lebanon Seaboard Corp, Franklinville, NY where they are recycled and manufactured into various types of landscaping pellets and sold under the name of Greenview.
