Start Your Engine: Incoming Student Exhibition 2022

The Start Your Engine Exhibition features work from the incoming class of Art & Design + Performing Arts Division students. This includes all first years, transfers (domestic and international) for the 2022-2023 school year. Start Your Engine showcases students from around the world and celebrates the talent and creativity of our new Arts students. The exhibition is made possible by the support of the Office of Enrollment Management and the School of Art & Design + Performing Arts Division. This annual exhibition is curated by current student interns; this year our student curators are: Lukas Perry (BFA 2023) and Xavi LeFevre (BFA 2025). The exhibition will be open throughout the summer starting June 9th and end with a closing reception on September 2nd.

27th Annual Local Government Conference
Southern Tier West Regional Planning & Development Board is hosting it’s 27th Annual Local Government Conference at Houghton College on June 9, 2022 from 7:30 AM – 4:00. This is a great opportunity for municipal officials to learn, share information, and visit local vendors. Registration will take place from 7:30 – 8:45 AM.
Registration materials have been distributed to municipal officials from Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Livingston, Ontario, Steuben, and Wyoming Counties of western New York. There will be four concurrent sessions throughout the day offering eight classes per session. Classes will be held for clerks, board members (supervisors and mayors), planning and zoning board members, code enforcement officers, court clerks, and justices. Continuing education credits (up to four hours) are offered for clerks, code enforcement officers, planning and zoning board members, and justices.
Registration is $35 for anyone who registers online; $40 for members of the Southern Tier West 2022 Community Assistance Program; $50 non-CAP members, and $60 at the door. Exhibitors registered for this year’s Conference include Allegany County Department of Development, Planning & Tourism; Association of Towns; CFS/Evans Agency & Slone Melhuish Agency; Comp Alliance; Five Star Bank; G&G Municipal Consulting; Hunt Engineers, Architects, Surveyors; LaBella Associates; Larson Design Group; MRB Group; Municipal Solutions, Inc.; NYMIR; PERMA; Wendel Companies; Williamson Law Book; and Young Explosives Corporation.
Conference Sponsors include the Allegany County Municipal Clerks/Collectors Association; Cattaraugus County Municipal Clerks Association; Chautauqua County Clerks Association; Comp Alliance; and the Town Highway Superintendent’s Association of Allegany County.
