Town of Independence Bicentennial

August 10th thru the 14th is the big Town of Independence Bicentennial celebration in Whitesville, NY. Start making your dresses, growing beards, baking a pie, get photos at the Sesquicentennial Jail, play family games, join in the car/tractor show, enjoy food vendors, and a Fireman’s Chicken BBQ, cornhole tournament, pony rides, water slide bounce house, getting floats ready for the grand parade, fireworks, and preparing for a fun filled few days finishing on Sunday with a community church service and pot luck picnic. Shop small and shop local with the whole family at the Angelica Farmers Market, held every Saturday, May – October, on Angelica’s charming Park Circle.  Local vendors offer a large variety of organic produce and home-made products, including fresh, local fruits and vegetables, herbs, maple syrup products, honey, dairy, eggs, cut flowers, and so much more.  Bring the kids and enjoy food vendors, interesting exhibits, and crafts for kids of all ages.
