Books & Brews with Cuba Library

The Cuba Library is pleased to announce a new monthly book group. Books & Brews will meet the fourth Thursday of every month at different establishments around town. That’s right, your library at a bar or coffee shop! Titles will include bestselling fiction and nonfiction by popular authors. Engage in great discussion while being able to enjoy appetizers, dinner, and drinks (although purchase is not necessary to participate in book club).  Check the book discussion group page for further information.

Performing Friday, October 28th from 7-10 PM. Tickets are $5 presale and $7 at the door. Doors open at 6:30.

Gettysburg guide to present “Whose Hallowed Grounds’

David A. Howe Public Library 155 N. Main St., Wellsville, NY
Retired U.S. Army Colonel, Gettysburg Licensed Battlefield Guide, and Adams County cattleman Tom Vossler recounts the stories of the civilian population of the Gettysburg area in the battles’ aftermath. Focusing on the key tactical phases and places of the battle, and placing them in context with the terrain, he describes and illustrates many of the Gettysburg area farms and farm families before, during, and after the battle. He also recounts the landowners’ post-war battle with State and Federal governments for financial reimbursement for the hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to livestock, property, and real estate sustained during the battle.
