Public Hearing Scheduled for Changes in Ag District 2 March 23, 2022 at 2 PM

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE MODIFICATION AND CONTINUATION OF AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT NUMBER TWO WITHIN THE TOWNS OF ALLEN, AMITY, ANDOVER, ANGELICA, BELFAST, BIRDSALL, CLARKSVILLE, CUBA, FRIENDSHIP, SCIO, WARD, WEST ALMOND, WELLSVILLE, AND WIRT

NOTICE is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Allegany County Board of Legislators at the Legislative Chambers, Room 221, County Office Building, Belmont, New York, on March 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., on the modification and continuation of Agricultural District Number Two which was created within the Towns of Allen, Amity, Andover, Angelica, Belfast, Birdsall, Clarksville, Cuba, Friendship, Scio, Ward, West Almond, Wellsville, and Wirt on August 13, 2001, and was last modified and continued with modifications on January 27, 2014, by Resolution No. 40-14.

The County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board has made a report and recommended that the District be continued with modifications. These modifications entail the inclusion of approximately 2,727 acres of predominantly viable agricultural land.  The continuation and requested modifications to Agricultural District Number Two will result in 365 landowners enrolling approximately 35,359.6 acres.

A description and map of the District, the reports, and the recommendations of the County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board may be examined at the Office of the Soil and Water Conservation District Board, Agricultural Service Center, 5425 County Road 48, Belmont, New York 14813, and the Allegany County Clerk’s Office, 7 Court Street, Belmont, New York 14813, during regular business hours.

All parties in interest and citizens will be heard by the County Board of Legislators at said public hearing.
