*Attached please find a copy of Allegany County’s State of Emergency Declaration that was re-issued on Tuesday, August 11. Please note that this is just a continuation of our existing State of Emergency that was originally issued on March 14 and has been re-issued every 30 days.*
A State of Emergency is hereby declared in Allegany County, effective 10:00 p.m. on August 11, 2020.
This local State of Emergency is being declared as a continuation of our March 14, April 13, May 13, June 12, and July 12, 2020, declarations due to the ongoing public health impacts of the Coronavirus-19 (COVID-19).
Allegany County currently has had numerous cases of COVID-19 to date, and the threat of this virus is imminent to the citizens and visitors of Allegany County. It is necessary that Allegany County continue to be proactive and fully prepared to deal with its effects.
As the Chief Executive of Allegany County, I, Curtis W. Crandall, Chairman of the Board, exercise the authority given me under Section 24 of the New York State Executive Law, to preserve the public health and public safety and hereby render all required and available assistance vital to the security, well-being, and health and safety of the citizens of Allegany County.
Although this State of Emergency does not in any way impact travel at this time, residents traveling to hotspots throughout the country, must quarantine for 14 days when returning.
I hereby direct all departments and agencies of Allegany County to take whatever steps necessary to protect life, health, property, public infrastructure, and provide such emergency assistance deemed necessary.
Local emergency orders may be enacted subsequent to this declaration. This State of Emergency will remain in effect for thirty days or until rescinded or renewed by a subsequent order.
