  • New website forms part of Allegany County’s Brand and Economic Development Impact initiative
  • Website transformed into a responsive design

Dec. 29, 2016, Belmont NY.

The launch of the new website,, which offers quick and easy access to essential information for the county’s residents and to the international site selector’s community, is part of the county’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and availability of information for its residents and business developers worldwide.

The website boasts a modern, colorful design replacing the decades old website. The county put a great deal of thought into the site’s visual impact: Large visual elements and modern images are intended to give it the feel of a county that is a vibrate place to live, to work, to visit, and to do business

The new home page is a microsite, with a navigation structure that features easy access to county resources, providing a single source of all county information. Each page of the site provides detailed information on all aspects of county government.

The website also offers two special features: a county calendar on the home page that lists all events ranging from legislative meetings, to health department-sponsored clinics, such as flu shots and rabies, to events happening throughout the county; and a News section that provides current news releases, allowing visitors to easily stay abreast of breaking news.

The county has honed its global brand identity and captured its essence in this new website.  Often, an executive’s or a site selector’s first contact with an economic development organization is through their website, and this new website will enhance our chances of attracting new businesses to the county,”  stated Dr. Craig R. Clark, director of Economic Development and executive director of Allegany County Industrial Development Agency (ACIDA).  In a 2014 survey, 63 percent of corporate executives in a site search used websites to aid in their decision making. “Good first impressions are crucial in attracting visitors, businesses and investors to the county, and with the new website we’ve designed a friendly and engaging place to come and explore Allegany County whether you are a resident or learning about us for the very first time,” stated Debra Root, District III legislator and Chair of the Planning and Development Committee.

This launch is the first stage of an ongoing initiative that will continue to grow and add new features and content to this site, while integrating all other existing sites into this new microsite for the county.
