NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON MODIFICATION AND CONTINUATION OF AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT NUMBER ONE CREATED WITHIN THE TOWNS OF ALLEN, BIRDSALL, CANEADEA, CENTERVILLE, GROVE, GRANGER, HUME, NEW HUDSON, AND RUSHFORD

           NOTICE is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Allegany County Board of Legislators at the Legislators’ Chambers, Room 221, County Office Building, Belmont, New York, on April 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., on the modification and continuation of Agricultural District Number One, which was created within the Towns of Allen, Birdsall, Caneadea, Centerville, Grove, Granger, Hume, New Hudson, and Rushford in the County of Allegany on July 10, 2000, and subsequently modified and continued on December 28, 2015, by Resolution No. 287-15.

          Agricultural District One currently consists of 812 landowners enrolling 55,203.7 acres in the district. The County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board has made a report and recommended that the District be continued with modifications. These modifications entail the addition of 17 landowners with approximately 1,865.6 acres of predominantly viable agricultural land.

          A description and map of the District, the reports and recommendations of the County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board may be examined at the Office of the Soil and Water Conservation District Board, Agricultural Service Center, 5425 County Road 48, Belmont, New York 14813 and the Allegany County Clerk’s Office, 7 Court Street, Belmont, New York 14813, during regular business hours.

          All parties in interest and citizens will be heard by the County Board of Legislators at said public hearing.
